VIDEO GAMES WITH MEANING
GAMIFICATION IN LIFE
FAMILY AND VIDEO GAMES
HAVE A BREAK HERE!
Welcome to LC-Games – a website that looks at video games, gaming and gamers at a (slightly) different angle than most people do nowadays. At least, we like to believe it's this way. Right now, "we" is just a single person trying to keep this place rolling. This will probably change over time and "we" will become a team of people with a single gaming belief. Or "we" will remain a lone warrior in the field – who knows. Anyway, if you're interested to learn a bit more about that single "we" person, you can do it by clicking the "About Me" link in the main menu above. So what exactly is LC-Games? It is the place, where we share and spread the word about games which we consider to be "life changing". By "life changing" we mean that these games have the potential to affect a person's life in a beneficial way – either significantly or slightly. Our main focus is mostly PC and console games, but we aim to take a broader approach and touch such areas as life gamification, family gaming, relationships between gamers and non-gamers, behavior in video games and more. Don't worry, though, it's not all that boring and there's also a small section where you can find games that will help you take a break, have a laugh, relax a bit or just kill some time if there's a need for that. GG!
RANDOM GAMING STUFF
Ever wanted to know how would it feel to travel through a giant, maze-like sphere made out of cubes, with the gravity turned-off? Well, you can actually do it – by playing a game with an outstanding name of “Activate The Three Artefacts And Then Leave” (how do I even abbreviate that?). Now, guess what needs to be done there… […]
Today I want to introduce you to a game that is not for the faint of heart. You might want to skip this post (and game) entirely if you are generally horrified by dentists and all that is connected with their work; or, if you are overly-sensitive to… strange things happening with teeth, be they yours or someone else’s; or if you can’t stand loud shrieking noise… […]
Today in The Best Simple Games I’m going to share with you a game which has a potential to get you an endless amount of fun in just a few seconds. It’s called “Infinite Monkey Autocorrect”.
Have you ever heard about the Infinite Monkey Theorem? If not, then, simply put, the theorem states […]
This week in The Best Simple Games I’m going to tell you about a wonderful little game which will draw your attention from everyday bustle – for a few minutes – and help to clear your mind of all the useless junk we often tend to stuff in our heads. The game is called “From The Sea, Freedom” and it is one of the few mind relaxing games I’ve met. […]
UPDATE!!! Jade Empire is no longer free on Origin, but perhaps it will be again sometime in the future…
Video games come in all forms and shapes. Nowadays there are plenty of them available for free […]
In my previous post I mentioned, that I find most of the reviews kind of dry and useless in terms of providing helpful information on whether a game will be fun and enjoyable for someone or not. I then offered a draft of what can potentially become […]
First off, this is not a “how-to” post about writing a video game review properly – just to be clear. It’s more like reasoning aloud in hopes that someone will notice and share their insight. Please, don’t be mad if you find this post completely useless.
Lately I’ve been thinking […]
Today I’m going to start a new (and for now the only one) rubric within my blog roll, which I will call The Best Simple Games. Here’s why.
In my constant thinking and re-thinking about what kind of information I should give here, on LC-Games, I came up with an idea […]
This is a second part of my extensive list of all the places on the Internet where you can buy PC-games online. In the first part I focused entirely on digital distributors who provide an opportunity to purchase games free of DRM. While DRM-free games have a lot of advantages, their cost is usually quite a bit higher […]
I see a lot of people complaining about bad Hearthstone Arena luck, and I really understand how it feels when you lose battle after battle. One of the most frustrating Arena runs for me was with Priest, which ended with zero wins on my part. I bet it’s not the last “bad luck” run in my HS Arena games, but that’s not what I want to talk about. […]
All right, Hearthstone may not be a life-changing game per se, but it definitely made some changes to my life, so I’m going to write a little post about it. Especially considering I’ve recently finished both Naxxramas and Blackrock Mountain adventures and have been spending all of my gold on Arena battles ever since. All those runs really made me feel like talking […]
I often meet people, who have an overall negative attitude towards video games or people, who consider gaming – and all which is related to it – a kids’ hobby. When I start to ask them, why is it exactly they think so, I usually get somewhat vague answers like “games make people (insert here: stupid, violent, brainwashed, addicted, etc.)” or no answer at all. The reason behind this […]
